The proposed work is for a small (5' x 8') bathroom remodel/repair on the first floor bump-out of the house that is believed to have been built
in the 1970s. (No previous permit information is available.) This house is within the H-2 Old Southwest Historic District.
On the exterior, renovation/repair includes: new exterior wall system to improve air sealing, weatherproofing, and energy efficiency;
replacing any rotted wood on the mud sill or existing wood siding (beneath existing vinyl siding); replacing the vinyl window with a wooden
window; mitigating water intrusion through gutter extensions and repairs; addition of an exhaust vent through the roof to regulate humidity.
The Architectural Review Board has approved exterior changes and issued a Certificate of Appropriateness (COAA24-0063).
On the interior, renovation/repair includes: subfloor, crawlspace, and ceiling insulation; repair of plumbing and fixtures (as necessary); tiling
of floor and shower walls; repair of electrical wiring (as necessary); and new wiring for LED ceiling puck lights and an exhaust fan to regulate
humidity.
